ANTIINFLAMATORY
VETERINARIY USE

FORMULA:

INDICATIONS:

In cases  ofallergies, dermatitis, arthritis, bursitis, carpitis, rhinitis,  traumatic lesions (accidental and/or surgical) as well as muscle with swelling. Indicated in cases of cardiovascular shock from diverse origin, specially septic shock, neurogenic and anaphylactic.

Cattle:  Ketosis, arthritis, traumatic lesions (accidental and/or surgical), stress, dermatitis, eczema, pneumonia, and aid for hipocalcemia, ketonemia, mastitis, metritis, conditioned to an adequate antibiotic therapy. As an aid in therapy of necrosis.

Horses: Arthritis, bursitis, carpitis, myositis, stress, laminitis, traumatic lesions (accidental and/or surgical).

Dogs: Arthritis, myositis, non specific dermatitis, eczemas, traumatic lesions (accidental and/or surgical).

Swine, sheep and goats : Arthritis, bursitis, carpitis, myositis, rhinitis, intoxications, stress, laminitis, traumatic lesions (accidental and/or surgical).

DOSE:

These doses are considered as average and will be administered and/or repeated according to case severity and under veterinary control and supervision.

ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION: Intramuscular, intravenoUs, intraarticular AND subcutaneous.

WARNINGS:

- This product should not be used 7 days before slaughter of animals intended for human consumption.

- Do not consume milk from treated animals until 48 hours after last dose.

- A long therapy with high doses of Dexvet   S.B. may cause suprarenal function suppression, in that case stop therapy and stimulate adrenal function with ACTH. 

-  Precautions and contraindications for corticoid steroids are valid for this product.

- Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.

- Keep in a dark and fresh place for storing.

Dexametasone 

Dexametasone is a long acting synthetic glucocorticoid, with 30 times more potency than hydrocortisone. Its effect duration is more than 48 hours and does not have mineral-corticoid effects.

In dogs distribution volume, elimination half life and depuration increase at high doses.

Most of its effects are similar to those or cortisol and are mediated by its interaction with steroid specific receptors in membrane or inner cell.

It has effect on energetic metabolism, calcium metabolism, hydric-electrolite balance and has hematology effects, immunologic, heart and respiratory as well as endocrine and nervous.

It must be avoided in immunology depressed animals, early and advanced pregnancy females because of its teratogenic effects and may cause abortions, specially in ruminants, horses and dogs.

In replace therapy it must be considered that use of glucocorticoid must me in similar doses to dose excreted naturally by adrenal gland, but these must be raised in stress due to illness or surgery.

It is also recommended intensive therapy in shock cases, particularly hemorrhagic and septic, because they improve hemodynamic and survival together with fluid therapy.

Dexametasone is recommended in inflammatory processes and allergies, including symptomatic therapy of pruritic, allergic disease as well as allergic gastroenteritis. It may used together with NSAI in chronic arthritis or dysplasia.
